Physical Education and Driver’s Education
Biography
Coach Keefer is a high school graduate of Jersey Shore Area High School and received his Bachelor’s degree from Lock Haven University. Keefer has coached baseball, wrestling, and football at Montoursville. Coach started the Strength Training for Life program a decade ago and has been a huge success in helping students learn how to live a long healthy lifestyle. STFL Lesson Plan:
1. Students must change for class and wear appropriate physical education attire. Each class the student does not meet this requirement, 3 points is subtracted from the MP grade.
2. Students must fill out a workout log each class. Each day that is not filled out properly, 4 points is subtracted from the MP grade. The workout log is graded at the end of each marking period, which could cause a drastic drop in a student’s final marking period grade if the log was not filled out properly!
3. Students must give their best effort in class each day.
Enrichment & Review for Strength Training for Life Classes:
Hi gang! I hope you are all safe and doing well. I miss seeing you! In the midst of these peculiar times, I encourage you all to get some exercise in! No, that’s not just Coach Keefer yelling at you to get busy, however as most of you know, there are major benefits to exercise, especially at a time like this. Not only does it help us stay in good physical shape, but it also helps bolster our immune system, as well as helps alleviate added stress and anxiety!
I will be posting workout logs from class in my Google Classroom. I will also post some videos that will help you supplement some of your exercises as many of us do not have equipment at home to utilize. I will show demonstrations for many different exercises utilizing household items. I am also OK with you just getting outside and taking a walk, jog, run, bike ride, etc. Again, 30 minutes a day, 3-4 days a week can help your physical, mental, and emotional health in so many ways!! Please log what activity you are doing so we can talk about it when we get back to school.
If you DID NOT join my Google Classroom in August, you will need to join now. The class code is: 4giwfmu
If you need to reach me, please e-mail me anytime! Use the following address: jkeefer@montoursville.k12.pa.us
