My name is Michele Williamson and I am the Supervisor of Special Education for the Montoursville Area School District. Since July of 2015, I have been working in this leadership capacity and it is my professional goal to assure the Montoursville Area School District is providing all students with disabilities a free, appropriate public education in the least restrictive environment.
The Montoursville Area School District Special Education Department offers an array of educational services through many different classrooms when providing all students within the district and Intermediate Unit Programs an education in the least restrictive environment. Montoursville Area School District uses a Response To Intervention approach when providing interventions for students as they require increased levels of educational support. This may be in the form of itinerant, supplemental, or full-time service delivery models, Response to Instruction and Intervention in small groups, or team teaching in the regular education classroom. All district staff has received professional development in meeting the needs of students with disabilities and special education staff is available to assist with either modifying or adapting the curriculum to meet the individual needs of all learners.
If you have questions or concerns involving your child’s education and how the special education process functions, or any special education related questions, please feel free to contact me via email at firstname.lastname@example.org, or via telephone at 570-368-3502. I look forward to working with you and your children to ensure a high-quality level of education.
