Early Dismissal Policy
The Montoursville Area School District Board of School Directors has delegated discretionary authority to the administration to dismiss school early in the event of an emergency. Parents are advised that arrangements should be made to ensure that their children will receive proper supervision if they are returned to their homes earlier than usual. It is suggested that working parents make arrangements with neighbors, relatives or friends to care for their children in the event parents will not be home. In addition, parents should review the contingency plans with their children to be certain they understand the alternate arrangements.
When the decision is made to close school early, Parent/Link calls will be made to inform parents of the early dismissal or school closing. Information will also be posted on the school district’s web page: www.montoursville.k12.pa.us. The administration will notify local radio and television stations:
