McCall Middle School is proud to have a Positive Behavior Intervention System (PBIS) in place. PBIS is an evidence-based framework to improve and integrate all of the data, systems, and practices affecting student outcome every day. PBIS creates schools where all students succeed.
Warrior P.R.I.D.E. – Each of the elements of PRIDE (Participation, Respect, Invest in your work, Determination, Everyone is included) are expected in all areas of the school: classrooms, Commons, restrooms, hallways, outdoors, and bus. Students are taught the expected behaviors in the areas above. When students are caught displaying one of the attributes of our PRIDE, they may be given a green PRIDE ticket which they can submit for prize drawings throughout the school year.
There will be PBIS Rewards Days after the first, second and third marking periods. Students must be eligible to participate in these fun days. The eligibility requirements are:
-Behavior: 5th/6th: May not participate if have more than 3 SWIS referrals; 7th/8th: May not participate if have more than 3 SWIS referrals or if have one Major SWIS referral.
-Academic: May not participate if have missing assignments or if failing 1 or more classes
-Attendance: May not participate if have 3 or more unexcused absences or 3 or more unexcused tardies
-Device Care: May not participate if have 1 or more intentional damage to their Chromebook
-The dates this applies to are by Marking Period (exact end date for eligibility depends on date of Rewards Day-TBD).
-If a student is exempt for ANY reason by the cut-off date, they are exempt from the entire Rewards Day and will report to a designated classroom to do school work.
The administration and staff of McCall appreciate parental support through reminding your students to follow the behavioral expectations at school, on school transportation and at school activities.
What is SWIS?
SWIS (School-Wide Information System) is a web-based system that McCall utilizes for behavior and discipline referrals. This system is maintained by the McCall MS administration.
