For Seniors

You finally made it!  You are a senior at Montoursville Area High School.  The day you’ve been waiting for is finally here.  Expect your senior year to go by quickly.  There is a lot for you to do between the first day of your senior year and the night of graduation.  This site was prepared by your high school counselors to help you through this process.  We encourage both students and parents to see their high school counselor with any questions or concerns.  We are here to assist you.  Remember to start your planning very early in the year to place you in a better position to reach your goals for after graduation.

Remember to check the folders available in the high school office often for scholarships as it is updated throughout the year.

If you are planning on playing sports at the college level, you should familiarize yourself with the NCAA website.  On that site you can register with the NCAA Eligibility Center and there is also a Guide for the College Bound Student Athlete (a guide for you and your parents).  The address is www.eligibilitycenter.org.  The guide can be found under “Resources.”  On the site you will also find the list of our high school’s approved core courses.  NCAA also requires that SAT scores come directly from the College Board.  If you will be registering with NCAA, you will need to select them as a recipient of your SAT scores.  NCAA’s code for that is “9999.”

If you are planning to apply to Commonwealth University (Lock Haven, Mansfield, Bloomsburg), you should participate in the Instant Decision Days here at MAHS. On scheduled dates each year, an admissions representative comes here to MAHS and walks you through the application, reviews your transcript and SAT/ACT scores, meets with you one-on-one and gives you an admission decision on the spot! See Miss Hornberger with any questions.

DON’T FORGET TO LET THE COUNSELING OFFICE KNOW WHEN YOU HAVE MADE YOUR DECISION FOR YOUR POST-SECONDARY PLANS, SO YOUR INFORMATION CAN BE ADDED TO THE ‘WARRIOR FUTURES’ BOARD!  SEE MISS HORNBERGER WITH ANY QUESTIONS.
