  • Transportation Registration Forms are to be completed at the beginning of each school year.

  • All bus change requests must be submitted in writing, detailing the reason for the change, to the District Office by July 1. The Business Manager, along with the Bus Contractor, will review and determine all changes.
  • In the event of an address change, please complete a Primary Change of Address Form as well as a new Transportation Registration Form.

Weather-Related Delayed Openings and Early Dismissals

During a delayed school opening all district buses will run on the delayed schedule, one or two hours later than usual, and will pick up students at the later time at all regular bus stops. All District Schools will open on the delayed time schedule, and all district schools will dismiss at the regular dismissal time.
When an early dismissal occurs due to weather, the buses will take the students to their designated afternoon bus stop after the dismissal time. Buses will run their normal route. The bus will arrive at your stop approximately the same amount of time after the dismissal that it would arrive after a normal school dismissal.
In isolated instances, bus drivers are authorized to utilize discretion as to whether the bus will run part or all of certain routes.
Only students who are registered with the Transportation Office may ride the school bus during weather-related delayed openings and early dismissals.

Early Dismissal Policy

The Montoursville Area School District Board of School Directors has delegated discretionary authority to the administration to dismiss school early in the event of an emergency. Parents are advised that arrangements should be made to ensure that their children will receive proper supervision if they are returned to their homes earlier than usual. It is suggested that working parents make arrangements with neighbors, relatives or friends to care for their children in the event parents will not be home. In addition, parents should review the contingency plans with their children to be certain they understand the alternate arrangements.

When the decision is made to close school early, calls will be made to inform parents of the early dismissal or school closing. Information will also be posted on the school district’s web page: www.montoursville.k12.pa.us. The administration will notify local radio and television stations:
