Facility Use Request

The Montoursville Area School District recognizes that the primary purpose of the school buildings, facilities and property is to provide students with an appropriate learning environment. The School Board may, however, make these facilities available to individuals and groups without discrimination and in accordance with board policy, provided the use does not interfere with the education or other programs of the schools. The procedure for requesting use of district facilities is as follows:

  1. Requester enters the request on Espace, via the link above.
  2. Montoursville Area District sports, clubs, and activity requests are immediately approved. Espace will auto-generate an approval email.
  3. Outside entities need school board approval and to provide a certificate of liability insurance for a combined single limit of $1,000,000, naming the Montoursville Area School District as additionally insured, before using the facilities.
    • Obtaining school board approval: the request is reviewed by the building principal, building and grounds supervisor, custodial supervisor, and/or athletic director. The request is then sent to the superintendent’s secretary to be added to the agenda. Agendas are published at noon on the Thursday before the school board meeting. The deadline to add items to the agenda is Wednesday at noon.
  4. After the school board votes, a letter is sent from the board secretary listing the next steps to gain building access and any fees associated with using the facilities.
  5. A detailed invoice will be sent after the event, based on the current fee schedule.
