During Christmas break, the Lady Warriors competed in a tournament hosted by Montgomery Area School District. The tournament was two days long, beginning Dec. 29, and concluding Dec. 30.
This is the first year that all of the athletes competed in this tournament, and the team claimed first place. They defeated Midd-West 56-21 and Meadowbrook Christian 50-31.

“My favorite game out of the whole tournament was against Midd-West because we beat them so well, and I just played well in that game,” said Kehrer. Kehrer has played basketball for 5 years, and she is a center.
“Montgomery was my favorite because our team was scoring a lot of points and communication was good with each other and we were all hype,” said freshman Jenna DeSanto. DeSanto has played basketball for roughly 5 years, and she is a post player.
There were multiple reasons as to why the team decided to compete in this tournament instead of ones they’ve played in the past.

Each player noted which game they thought was the most challenging for them as a team, and they also noted the strengths the team maintained throughout this tournament.
“Midd-west was probably the most challenging out of the teams because they had good team chemistry and were scoring a bunch,” said DeSanto, while Keher said, “The game that was the most challenging was against Meadowbrook Christian because I just didn’t play as well as I did in the other game.”
DeSanto’s favorite memory from the tournament was winning a shootout during one of their games.
“ The team’s strengths during the tournament were working well on offense together and playing with each other. Our weaknesses were letting them score easy baskets that should not have been scored,” said Bainbridge.
