Each month, the coaches from the selected athletic teams choose a senior they strongly believe is their Athlete of the Month. The qualities a coach looks for in this decision are leadership, hard work, good sportsmanship, and one that gives their best effort every day. Softball: Kayleigh Sheleman

Q: Do you have any superstitions or pre-game rituals?
A: “ I am very superstitious, I do my hair the same for every game, cannot eat before or during games, and do the exact same routine while warming up before games including always hitting last before the game.”
Q: What is your favorite song to listen to on away-game bus rides?
A: “My favorite song to listen to on the bus is ‘Save a Horse Ride a Cowboy’ by Big & Rich.”
Q: What is your favorite pre-game snack and or drink?
A: “I do not have any pre game snacks or drinks, I only drink water which is one of my superstitions.”
Q: What is your favorite motivational quote?
A: “My favorite motivational quote is ‘To uncover your true potential you must first find your own limits and then you have to have the courage to blow past them’.” – Amanda Scarborough.”
Q: What advice would you give to younger players?
A: “ My advice to younger players is to let your haters be your biggest motivators and become comfortable with being uncomfortable. The only opinion that matters is your own and your hard work will always prove others wrong.”
Q: Which college are you looking to attend and what is your current major of interest?
A: “ I am attending the University of Massachusetts to major in Kinesiology and play Division 1 softball.”
Q: How many years have you played softball?
A: “I have been playing softball for eight years.”
Q: How many hours of sleep do you try to get the night before your game?
A: “I try to get eight hours of sleep before games but I tend to think a lot before games and sometimes have trouble sleeping because I’m always thinking.”
Track: Adelyn Montgomery

Q: Do you have any superstitions or pre-game rituals?
A: “ I do the same warmups every time and get into my blocks the same every meet.”
Q: What is your favorite song to listen to on away-game bus rides?
A: “Anything that is on my playlist.”
Q: What is your favorite pre-game snack and or drink?
A: “My favorite snack is Gushers if I have some and my favorite drink is Gatorade.”

A: “When you focus on the good, the good gets better.”
Q: What advice would you give to younger players?
A: “ Do not get down on yourself after one bad meet.”
Q: Which college are you looking to attend and what is your current major of interest?
A: “I am not sure where I want to go to college yet, but I want to do something in the medical field.”
Q: How many years have you ran track?
A: “This is my second year doing track.”
Q: How many hours of sleep do you try to get the night before your meet?
A: “I try to get at least eight hours of sleep.”

Q: Do you have any superstitions or pre-game rituals?
A: “I always eat a Honey Stinger waffle before games because if I don’t it makes me feel like I’ll underperform.”
Q: What is your favorite song to listen to on away-game bus rides?
A: “I like to listen to ‘Blue Notes’ by Meek Mill or ‘Feelin It’ by Jay Z.”

A: “I usually have a banana and Propel before my meet. I also like to bring gummies and sometimes a Twix for after.”

A: “I think one of my favorite quotes is said by Tim Notke. He said “Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard.”
Q: What advice would you give to younger players?
A: “My advice to younger people, even though I’m only a sophomore, would be to leave it all out there, because you never know when it’ll end.”
Q: Which college are you looking to attend and what is your current major of interest?
A: “I recently visited Lock Haven and Penn College. Both are very nice but my plan is to play/run at the Division One level.”
Q: How many years have you ran track?
A: “This is my second year of running track and I plan to run throughout my whole high school career and hopefully in college.”
Q: How many hours of sleep do you try to get the night before your meet?
A: “I usually try to get the same amount of sleep throughout the whole week so my body is adjusted to the same routine.”
Baseball: Logan Kirby

Q: Do you have any superstitions or pre-game rituals?
A: “I usually go to the bathroom two-to-four times.”
Q: What is your favorite song to listen to on away-game bus rides?
A: “ I typically watch Lebron James edits.”

A: “Gatorade bar and water.”

A: “Eat and lift.”

A: “East Stroudsburg- exercise science.”
