February Athletes of the Month

Each month, the Arrowhead features athletes from the school chosen by the coaches for their dedication, teamwork, and other outstanding characteristics and skills. This month, sophomores Elizabeth Wanner and Quinn Winslow are being recognized for Indoor Track.

Elizabeth Wanner:

Q: How long have you been doing Indoor Track?

A: “I have been doing indoor and outdoor track for one year now, this will be my second.”

Q: What is your favorite thing about Indoor Track?

A: “My favorite thing about Indoor Track is running the 400-meter dash, and how calm it is right before your race starts.”

Q: What is your favorite memory from Indoor Track?

A: “My favorite memory from Indoor Track is leaving to go get Subway and then coming back to watch Lila jump.”

Q: What is your favorite memory from all your years of doing Track?

A: “My favorite memory from all of my years of doing track was last year’s outdoor track season. We were coming home from an invitational and Tyler spilled his milkshake and it started to travel all the way up the bus.”

Q: Do you plan to do track in college?

A: “Yes, I would like to go somewhere with a D2 track team.”

Q: What college are you looking at attending and what do you plan to major in?

A: I am looking at attending Susquehanna or Lock Haven. I would like to major  in nursing.”

Q: What is your favorite part about being part of the Indoor Track team?

A: “My favorite part about being on the indoor track team is that you get to practice all your events before the outdoor track season.”

Q: How do you prepare for meets?

A: “I prepare by going for a ½-1 mile jog and then doing all of our stretches.”

Q: What is your favorite warm-up song?

A: “I don’t listen to music to warm up.”

 

Quinn Winslow:

Q: How long have you been doing Indoor Track?

A: “I’ve done indoor and outdoor track for two years.”

Q: What is your thing about Indoor Track?

A: “The weather outside doesn’t affect my performance.”

Q: What is your favorite memory from Indoor Track?

A: “Spending time with my friends.”

Q: What is your favorite memory from all your years of doing Track?

A: “Going to states with my brother and teammates.”

Q: Do you plan to do track in college?

A: “I haven’t decided, but I plan to play a sport.”

Q: What college are you looking at attending and what do you plan to major in?

A: “I don’t have a specific college I would like to attend, but I’m interested in a business/politics major.”

Q: What is your favorite part about being part of the Indoor Track team?

A: “Gaining the speed and endurance back to prepare for outdoor (track).”

Q: How do you prepare for meets?

A: “Listen to music and talk to my dad and coaches.”

Q: What is your favorite warm-up song?

A: “Whatever Aaron plays in the van.”
