September students of the month

Every month, the Montoursville and Warrensville Lions Club picks two seniors to recognize as students of the month. For October, Riley Nelson and Nate Fisher were chosen for the Montoursville Lions, and Marissa Hartland and Sean Ravert were chosen for the Warrensville Lions. The Arrowhead is not responsible for choosing the Students of the Month.

Riley Nelson

Parents: Pamela Nelson and Jeremiah Nelson

Hobbies: A part of Faith United Methodist Church and its activities, Girl Scouts, and Young Life

Favorite Subject: AP Physics 

Fondest Memory: Marching band trips and bus rides and funny moments in physics.

Extracurricular Activities: Marching Band (Colorguard), Tennis (Junior Varsity), Track and Field (Pole Vault), Spanish Club (Treasurer), Class of 2024 Committee (Treasurer),  National Honor Society (Treasurer), Student Government (Treasurer), Astronomy Club (Treasurer), Arrowhead (Editor-in-Chief), National English Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Rho Kappa, Key Club, Ski Club, Academic Decathlon, Physics Club

Future Plans: Plans to attend Lycoming College to major in math and physics with a secondary education certification, and minor in Spanish.

 

Nate Fisher

Parents:  Gregg and Tia Fisher

Hobbies: Hanging out with “the boys,” playing guitar, and hanging out at the record store.

Favorite Subject: History 

Fondest Memory: Too many to count

Extracurricular Activities: National Honor Society, Rho Kappa, FFA, Football, and Track and Field. 

Future Plans: Plans to enter the workforce and get an apprenticeship in plumbing.

 

Marissa Hartland

Parent: Tammie Hartland 

Hobbies: reading, shopping and exercising

Hobbies: reading, 

Favorite Subject: Biology 

Fondest Memory: “I spent the weekend in Inner Harbor when I was seven and went to the aquarium. I walked out deciding I would be a dolphin trainer when I grew up.”

Extracurricular Activities: National Honor Society, Key Club (Lieutenant Governor of Division 7), Student Government (President, previous Junior Representative), Science National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, National Art Honor Society, Rho Kappa, Yearbook, school dance committees, Spanish Club, Soccer, Softball, and Vice President of the Class of 2024.

Future Plans: Plans to attend college to become a physician’s assistant.

 

Sean Ravert

Parents: John and Susan Ravert

Hobbies: Enjoys playing drums and guitar, and working on his Jeep.

Favorite Subject: Metal 

Fondest Memory: Riding with the soccer team on away games.

Extracurricular Activities: Varsity Soccer and National Honor Society 

Future Plans: Plans to attend Penn College of Technology to study Alternative Mechanics.
