Academic Decathlon (by Sophia Perez)

Academic Decathlon is preparing for the state final on March 14 and 15 at John Paul II high school in Royersford.  There are no future plans unless they make it to nationals. They are starting to welcome members for next year and any interested student should contact Mr. Mitch Hart and/or speak to any AcDec members.

Bible Study (by Nadia Farenish)

Book Club (by Nadia Farenish)

Book Club is reading “The Drowned Woods”by Emily Llyod-Jones this month. There will be a meeting during FLEX on February 20th. 

CON-CON (by Ben Gotshall)

No new news regarding CON-CON again this year.

Environmental Club (by Sophia Perez)

The Environmental Club is hoping to have a teacher appreciation collaboration with the art department. They are also finalizing the honeybee location from the grant received last year. They are putting together teams for the Envirothon competition. They are possibly building bluebird boxes with as Audubon society and they are preparing to raise and release monarch butterflies for graduation. The environmental club is determining and practicing for Envirothon. Students interested should contact Mr. Pavlick and/or Audrey Hess. Envirothon is available to anyone interested.

FBLA – Future Business Leaders of America (by Nevaeh Montoya)

 FBLA will be holding a meeting during flex on Tuesday, Feb. 18th.  Award certificates will be presented at that time.

FFA (Future Farmers of America) (by Marisa Witmer)

FFA is currently preparing for the Ag Day, its banquet, and an apparel sale. Fourteen members attended ACES at the beginning of February and members should be aware that there is a chapter meeting on Feb. 20.

Homecoming Committee (by Marisa Witmer)

There are no further updates at this time regarding the homecoming committee.

Journalism a.k.a “The Arrowhead” (by Allie Chapman)

They are planning the senior issue, and preparing for the daughter dance which is on March 21.

Mock Trial (by Ben Gotshall)

The club is wrapping up the year and planning their banquet. All members should keep their eyes out for when the banquet date is finalized. The banquet will be the final thing Mock Trial does this year.

Model UN (by Nadia Farenish)

Model UN sign-ups were last week. There will be a meeting at Penn College on April 11.

Mu Alpha Theta (by Marisa Witmer)

Mu Alpha Theta will be having a meeting in Feb. 24 to discuss their pi day sale on 3/14 and their next math competition at Bucknell university on 3/12. Members will be selling pie at lunches on pi day 3/14 since 3.14 is an approximation of pi. Their next math competition at Bucknell University is Bucknell University’s 52nd John Steiner Gold Mathematical Competition. Nine members may attend, three participating in the team competition. 

National Art Honor Society (by Nevaeh Montoya)

NAHS is selling Valentine’s day cards during lunches. They are also having different hour opportunities including vases for teacher appreciation month. 

National Honor Society (by Nevaeh Montoya)  

NHS will be having the Hats for Heat Root Beer Float Sale at the end of the month. NHS is also still tutoring as requested during flex. 

Physics Club (by Aubrey Slagus)

The Physics Club future plans will depend on who is teaching AP physics and Honors Physics next year. They will be preparing for the Honors Physics final exam at Hersheypark in May.

Rho Kappa (Social Studies Honor Society) (by Marisa Witmer

Rho Kappa is currently planning a Chipotle fundraiser on March 13th. They will also be holding a meeting on Thursday, Feb. 20th to discuss Memorial day and voter registration.

Ski Club (by Ben Gotshall)

On Monday the 10th of February the club went skiing for the day at Montage Mountain. On the 21st til the 23rd of February, the club will be having a ski weekend at Holiday Valley Ski Resort in New York.

Social Science Seminar (by Sophia Perez) 

The Social Science Seminar is having a meeting in Feb. 27 with the state representative Joe Hamm where he will take questions on state government topics. During March, the Lycoming County commissioners will take questions from the Lycoming County government. March 13th members will attend a conference at Penn College on the state government. Any interested students should contact Mr. Rich DeLong.

Spanish Club (by Ben Gotshall)

The February Spanish Club meeting is a make-up of our canceled January meeting (due to weather).  The club’s officers will present about Three Kings cake, a traditional dessert served on Jan. 6. Club members will play a question/answer game in Spanish for a chance to win a piece of Three Kings cake.  There will also be a brief presentation about the summer 2026 trip to Costa Rica.

Spanish Honor Soc. – Andres Iduarte Chapter (by Allie Chapman)

On Feb. 14 there was a festival in the LGI room. In March there will be a meeting during which three students will present seasons in different Spanish speaking places.

Student Government (by Allie Chapman)

Winter formal is on Feb 14 or 15, and the club is planning the MS walk in April.

Technology Student Association/TSA (by Marisa Witmer)

TSA is not currently preparing any projects or assignments. The club plans to hold a meeting to elect new officers and plan fundraisers in the future.

Yearbook, a.k.a. The ’Sock Staff (by Sophia Perez)

Currently, the Yearbook Staff are continuing to put together layouts for the yearbook. They are also using and taking photos as well as interviewing students for sports, events, and clubs, mainly fall. The staff just picked next year’s staff. They are continuing to cover winter events, making them more active. This will continue in the future. The yearbook price increases in Feb. 28th from  $65 to $75. Any student interested in joining now should wait for scheduling next year and ask Mrs. Wentzler any questions.
