January Artist of the Month: Woodworking

Daven Wentzler, sophomore

Q: How many years have you been in Woodshop?

A: “One and a half years”

Q: What is your favorite memory from being in Woodshop?

A: “Seeing my first completed project.”

Q: What is your favorite project you have ever completed?

A: “A small, wooden pine box.”

Q: What project are you currently working on?

A: “It’s a pine wall clock with space in the top half to place a clock, and space on the bottom half for a shelf.”

Q: Why do you enjoy Woodshop?

A: “I like the people in my class, and Mr. Woolever is really fun to talk to. [I also like] the ability to spend a significant amount of time making something nice.”

Q: If you were to try to convince someone to try out Woodshop, what would you tell them?

A: “Woodshop can be a little boring at first, but Mr. Woolever just wants to make sure everyone is safe and knows how to use the machines. After the first couple of classes, you’re able to pick your project and your wood type. Seeing a finished project is very fulfilling!”
