All around, there are little girls excitedly dancing to \u2018Golden\u2019 from the movie \u2018K-Pop Demon Hunters\u2019. Dads are seen standing around while their daughters get their faces painted, and there were so many heart-warming moments between fathers and all the young girls. This all added up to another successful annual daughter dance held on Jan. 30.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe started this tradition because [The Arrowhead] needed money. We were to a point where we could not afford to print,\u201d said Arrowhead adviser Mrs. Sandra Trick.<\/span><\/p>\n

The raised money goes toward not only the operation of the Arrowhead, but also funds the printing of the colored Senior Issue handed out at graduation.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI thought it was really fun helping out with face painting the kids,\u201d said Freshman Holly Mowrey, \u201cThey\u2019re really crazy, but also super cute and fun to work with.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The daughter dance raised a total of $2,061.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI loved [the dance],\u201d stated Trick\u2019s daughter Emma. \u201cMy favorite part was probably dancing.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Usually the dance is held during the spring at the elementary school, but this year it was changed to a winter dance at the high school.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI would\u2019ve loved to attend the dance at the high school instead of the elementary school when I was younger,\u201d Mowrey described.<\/span><\/p>\n

Trick said the school administration is highly supportive of the dance and willingly approves the facility requests every year.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Everything went smoothly, the only complaint was the lighting.,” Mowrey said. \u201cWe could\u2019ve definitely benefited from more lights. If we had something like a disco ball I feel like [the atmosphere] would\u2019ve looked better.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
