Photo by Ryleigh McConnaughhay<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\"><b>Third Place <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2013 Alex Martinyuk who played cello<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\"><b>Fan Favorite <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2013 Boston Hazen, who played piano<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\">Auditions were held from Dec. 2 to Dec. 8.\u00a0 Sophomore Christian Berwanger spoke about why his group auditioned and his experience on stage.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\">\u201cWe decided to audition because the four of us together would bring a different aspect to the show and bond us together,\u201d said Berwanger.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\">The singers presented a cover of \u201cWhite Christmas\u201d by The Drifters, sung in the famous movie &#8220;Home Alone&#8221;.\u00a0 \u201cI felt very excited. Photo by Ryleigh McConnaughhay.<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\">Other acts included Senior Noah Rakestraw, who swept the stage when he sang \u201cLove\u201d by Keyisha Cole.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\">\u201cEver since I was the ripe age of seven, I knew I had the vocal power to shock the world,\u201d said Rakestraw.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\">Rakestraw said he learned to \u201covercome [his] fears,\u201d from auditioning and performing at the show.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\">Two acts featured recurring performers. Sophomore Estella Smelko made a return this year with an original parody of \u201cWhen Will My Life Begin\u201c from &#8220;Tangled&#8221;.
