Seniors Kayleigh Sheleman and Quinn Winslow were titled All-State through their display of elite skill and hard work during the 2025 season.<\/span><\/p>\n

The title of all-state is the highest form of recognition a hard working athlete can receive in the commonwealth.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>I feel honored to be an all-state athlete, <\/span>\u201d says Winslow. \u201c<\/span>I am very grateful because most people don’t get to experience this type of award.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Sheleman got recognized as a PIAA First Team All-State Third Baseman for softball and Winslow as a PIAA All-State Midfielder for soccer.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI am very excited and proud to receive this recognition,\u201d said Sheleman. \u201cSophomore year I was recognized as a Second Team All-State Third Baseman and set out with a goal to earn First Team junior year, so I was glad all of my hard work paid off in that sense!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Sheleman plans to go to college after graduation in hopes of becoming a Division 1 softball player and Winslow will continue to pursue a soccer career.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cTo become All-State, I had to put in more work than just regular practices and games,\u201d said Winslow. \u201cI ran and practiced on my own in the off season in order to stay in shape\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Sheleman has been playing softball since she was 10 years old and has been \u201c[practicing] with [her] dad at least twice a week\u201d consistently since she was 12.<\/span><\/p>\n

Both Sheleman and Winslow said that their families have been their biggest supporters throughout their career.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMy advice I would give is to never stop working and do not listen to what others have to say about you,\u201d said Sheleman. \u201cThere will be plenty of people that doubt you and talk down about you, but it is very important that you work hard and prove them wrong!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Winslow also shared his advice.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201cIf you want to become an elite athlete, you have to be confident in your skills, and able to overcome adversities, such as injuries or a bad game,\u201d advised Winslow.<\/span><\/p>\n
