What are the strategies?\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\">Juniors Paige Rosenbaum and Kenna Woodling are excited to continue seeing how different teachers operate in their classrooms and how their teaching styles work for them.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\">\u201cIt was a cool experience to see how [Mr. Patrick Clancy] handled different kids&#8217; learning styles and how he adapted to what each kid needed,\u201d Rosenbaum said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\">Woodling agrees, and said that it was interesting to observe how teachers interact with students who have individualized education plans or learning disabilities.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\">\u201cIt was also interesting that we got to see how [the teachers] have their routines and handle different conflicts,\u201d Woodling said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\">In addition to witnessing various teaching styles, students are also getting different class experiences based on the different teachers they shadow.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\">\u201cDepending on the teacher, we can be interacting with the students, totally observing, or playing games with them,\u201d Rosenbaum said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\">As well as shadowing individual grade teachers, students will have the opportunity to see teachers of \u201cspecials\u201d such as art, gym, and music, in action.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\">\u201cWe are not only doing classroom and desk work, but we get to assess specials and then some of us might hopefully have the chance to observe an interpreter and see how she works with her students,\u201d said Rosenbaum.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\">Coming up this year in the month of December, Tira shared that the Education students will be taking a break from teacher observations and focus on another aspect of the education system.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\">\u201cDecember is when the [Psychology] students start going [to the elementary school] and we want to respect that they have time in the classroom as well,\u201d Tira said. \u201cWe are going to have meetings with different folks in the building that aren\u2019t necessarily at the head of a classroom, but certainly help the building run.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_8393\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-8393\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-8393 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.montoursville.k12.pa.us\/thearrowhead\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/11\/image-300x225.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.montoursville.k12.pa.us\/thearrowhead\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/11\/image-300x225.png 300w, https:\/\/www.montoursville.k12.pa.us\/thearrowhead\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/11\/image.png 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-8393\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Mr. Daniel Taormina teaches a lesson to the Education 215 class on code of conduct and ethics as a teacher. Photo taken by Mrs. Andrea Tira<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\">Students will be meeting with faculty like Mr. Darrin Ferrar, the principal, Mrs. Jo Ellen Shear, the reading specialist, and Mrs. Vanissa Lorson, the guidance counselor. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\">Tira is hopeful that they will present their individual roles to the students to give them a broader understanding of how the school is run and who makes it work like it does.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\">In the end, utilizing all of their newfound knowledge, the class will have a final project that must be completed.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\">\u201cOur final project is finishing lesson plans and then teaching a class of our choosing,\u201d Rosenbaum said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\">Woodling is thinking about teaching a seventh grade English class, and Rosenbaum is considering eighth grade math.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\">\u201cI\u2019m excited to see where this program will take us as future teachers,\u201d Rosenbaum said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif\"><em><strong>Featured photo (at top): Education students pose on the front stairs with Tira and Superintendent Mr. Daniel Taormina.
