Photo by Isaac Erlandson<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Despite a valiant effort, Montoursville lost to Southern Columbia last Friday, October 10 16-26. A 10-point difference may seem significant, but it exceeded expectations for a game against Southern Columbia. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The game started off well for the Warriors, with a deep kick return for the first play and an early field goal that put the Warriors at 3-0. There was a moment where Montoursville was brought to a third town, but they prevented a 4th down situation with a move similar to the Eagle\u2019s tush push.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And in the second quarter, the game surprisingly continued to seem in the Warriors\u2019 favor. Montoursville was pushed back almost to the goal line, in danger of a safety, but they were given room to breathe by a difficult catch in traffic.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Warriors also seemed to briefly rally after multiple stops and running plays by Christian Banks, but that hope was shut down after Southern Columbia intercepted a pass, and continued moving the ball right into the endzone.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After that, it seemed the Warriors\u2019 fate was sealed. In the fourth quarter, five minutes from the end of the game, the score was 16-26. Two more touchdowns would have to happen, but that just didn\u2019t seem possible. The Warriors lost its senior night game 16-26. They were full, salty, greasy, just how stadium fries should be. Like any stadium meal, a soda is necessary, and a Coca-Cola suits the fries well. I would recommend eating these fries without sauce, as the fries this week hit a delicate balance when it came to their taste, and condiments could throw that off.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Despite a valiant effort, Montoursville lost to Southern Columbia last Friday, October 10 16-26.
