As the beeps of machinery buzzes around them, and the line of tired looking teens pile in, the staff lift their silverware and pull closer to their computers. After a long day, the team closes up the kitchen and begins the process of cleaning all without so much as a thank you.
The Lunch Ladies are one of the most integral parts of the high school,and yet they often get no thanks for their backbreaking work. Without the lunch ladies there would be no food and the student body would be left hungry. However, of the lunch ladies one is acknowledged and beloved: Jade Primerano, the sarcastic jokester of the crew who has been entertaining the student body for about three years now.
Jade started in 2023 after hearing about a job interview.
“The hours were good,” said Jade. “I found out about the job from a friend of a friend.”
Despite her sarcastic personality, Jade said that “interacting with the kids” is her favorite part of the job. She said she loves the students and she probably wouldn’t still be working here if it wasn’t for them. Above all else she said she enjoys playfully bickering with them.
Other members of the staff had the same story, including Stephanie Stone, one of the other lunch ladies. Stephanie said that the students “Are pretty polite. Not many give us a hard time. We often get thanked.”
Stephanie said she found out about the job on the website Indeed.com and she has been working here ever since. “As a mother, she said the school schedule allows for her to spend time with her kids without having to work”, which according to Stephanie “Is more convenient. I get to spend a lot more time with my kids.”

Sophomore Michael Labs has praised the lunch ladies for their kindness to the student body.
“I like how they can act in different ways with different people depending on who you are.” Labs said.
In order to show his appreciation to the Lunch Ladies, Michael always makes sure to speak kindly to them.
“I always use my manners when I speak with them and always say please and thank you and have a good day.
