March Artists of the Month – Musical Theater

Q: What role did you play, and what was your audition process like?

A: “I played the role of Mal Beineke, and to be honest, I was absolutely terrified at my audition. All I had to do was do a monologue in character and sing part of a song, but I was still terrified.”

Q: How long have you been involved in theater?

A: “This is my first year involved in theatre.”

Q: What was your favorite memory from the musical this year?

A: “My favorite memory so far has been running through the show with costumes for the first time.”

Q: What was your favorite scene to perform?

A: “My favorite scene to perform is ‘Full Disclosure.’”

Q: How many shows have you been in? What roles did you have?

A: “This is my first show at the high school, but I was in ‘Moana Jr.’ (Ensemble) in 8th grade at the middle school.”

Q: Are you hoping to be nominated for a Ray of Light Award for your performance?

A: “I am hoping to be nominated for a Ray of Light.”

Q: What is the coolest part of being a part of the theater program at MAHS?

A: “The coolest part of being a part of the theatre program at MAHS is that everybody supports one another. We all are like a big family, and I have grown closer to many people during the course of the musical.”

Q: What role did you play, and what was your audition process like?

A: “I was an ancestor/ensemble. The audition process was quick, I just had to sing a few measures of a song, say a few lines, and then do the choreography with other people.”

Q: How long have you been involved in theater?

A: “I have been involved in theatre for three years.”

Q: What was your favorite memory from the musical this year?

A: “My favorite memory that I have made this year was the hype circle that we did backstage on opening night.”

Q: What was your favorite scene to perform?

A: “My favorite scene to perform was the scene that includes the song ‘Secrets.’”

Q: How many shows have you been in? What roles did you have?

A: “I was in the tech crew for ‘Moana Jr.’, stage crew in ‘Newsies,’ and an ancestor in ‘The Addams Family’.”

Q: Are you hoping to be nominated for a Ray of Light Award for your performance?

A: “I hope that our group will be nominated for a Ray of Light Award.”

Q: What is the coolest part of being a part of the theater program at MAHS?

A: “The best part about being a part of the theatre program is that you make so many new friends and you get to spend time with everyone.”
