“It was a hard decision to make,” said Tira, “The timing is right since [Key Club] is in good shape.”

The announcement was very out of the blue, as described by a few members.

“It was a big shock and very unexpected, [Tira] was explaining the club’s history and just dropped the news,” said sophomore Nadia Farenish.

Tira described the moment as bittersweet and sad.

“I’m ready for new things… I don’t plan on advising anymore clubs, but I am teaching a new class,” said Tira.

Tira said she will continue to be a member of the Kiwanis.

“It won’t be hard to adjust to a new adviser, but it won’t be the same,” said Farenish, “She was kind and cared a lot about the club and others could sense that from her.”

“It’s a shame. [Tira] is a good mentor,” said sophomore Leah Stine.
