February Students of the Month

Every month, the Montoursville Lions Club picks two seniors to recognize as Students of the Month. The Arrowhead is not responsible for choosing the Students of the Month.

Grace Barkauskas

Parents: Nik and Stacey Barkauskas 

Q: What sports, clubs, and/or activities are you involved in?

A: “[I am] president of marching, jazz, and concert band, secretary of concert choir, ‘Ville A Capella ensemble, Theater club, Musical Theater club, Thespian Honor Society, and hours secretary of Student Government. I am also in Key Club, and outside of school I participate in Girl Scouts in which I just earned the Gold Award.” 

Q: What are your plans for after high school?

A: “I plan to attend Syracuse University for Music Education.”

Q: What is your favorite memory?

A: “All of the memories I’ve shared with my fellow marching band seniors are my favorites.”

Q: What is your favorite quote?

A: “‘Not an end, but a start of all things left to do,’ -Hozier.”

Q: Do you have a favorite school tradition? If so, what is it?

A: “I love Friday Night Lights and everything about football season.”

Q: What is something that you enjoy doing in your free time?

A: “I love playing saxophone and just being creative in my spare time, if I have any!”

Q: Pick either a favorite singer/band/song, movie/TV show, or book, and tell me a bit about why it is your favorite!

A: “I love Hozier’s music! I’ve seen him in concert twice, I own his vinyl records, and lots of shirts. His lyrics and music mean so much to me.”

Q: What is a goal of yours for the rest of senior year?

A: “I’m trying to be kind to everyone I see, since I don’t have much time left with the students at MAHS, I want to leave a positive impact.”

Q: If you could give any advice to future seniors, what would it be?

A: “Try something new! The worst that could happen is that you don’t like it, and you don’t have to stick with it then. We’re graduating anyway, so do what makes you happy.”

Q: What sports, clubs, and/or activities are you involved in?

A: “Basketball, track and Key Club.”

Q: What are your plans for after high school?

A: “Serve the Coast Guard and get a trade or make a career out of it.”

Q: What is your favorite memory?

A: “Probably vacations with family since we travel a lot.”

Q: What is your favorite quote?

A: “Veni Vidi Vici, since it always stuck out to me and it’s impactful.”

Q: Do you have a favorite school tradition? If so, what is it?

A: “I don’t really have a favorite school tradition but I do like bringing my ‘Vette out during spring and summer and getting tons of compliments.”

Q: What is something that you enjoy doing in your free time?

A: “I enjoy hanging out with friends, lifting, reading scripture, and fooling around.”

Q: Pick either a favorite singer/band/song, movie/TV show, or book, and tell me a bit about why it is your favorite!

A: “My favorite artist is Drake since I grew up listening to him and I mostly listen to rap or rock.”

Q: What is a goal of yours for the rest of senior year?

A: “A goal for the rest of my senior year is to enjoy it and work hard.”

Q: If you could give any advice to future seniors, what would it be?

A: “I encourage them to work hard and just enjoy your year.”
