A Look Around With Lindsay: “Sneak” Attack!

Every pair of shoes has its own story to tell. Now that might sound dramatic, but when you actually think about it, it is totally true. When getting dressed for the day, the pair of shoes that is chosen has to take you through your entire day.

Now how do you pick which shoes you wear? Is there only one favorite pair that is worn every single day? Maybe a specific pair for the days when you are at the gym or a pair designated for when you are out shopping? Or maybe even the color of the shoes has to coordinate with your outfit for the day?

Shoes are way more important than we think! Now what are some reasons why sneakers in particular are so important to students here at Montoursville? Well, it is time to find out!

For senior Gianna Waldman, her Hoka sneakers are her favorite.

“They’re really really light on your feet and they honestly feel like you’re walking on a cloud, they’re great,” Waldman said. “There’s a lot of different styles so you can find something that’s pretty unique to you.”

Junior Elizabeth Wanner, who is on the Cross Country and Track and Field teams, also casts her vote for Hokas.

“Because I run in them and they’re just like really good for all different terrains that we run on,” Wanner said.

Wanner also says she gets lots of compliments from people when she wears her Hokas.

“I think it’s because all of the colors are super pretty and they’re just a really good style,” she said.

Wanner does not just stick with her Hokas, though. She has also really been into Nike shoes lately.

“I usually wear my Nike shoes, but I don’t usually get compliments on them because everyone has them,” Wanner said.

Freshman Christian Berwanger is also a big fan of Nike shoes, just like Wanner.

“I love their style, comfort, and the way they look,” Berwanger said. “I probably wear my Nikes more than any other pair of shoes I own.”

“Nike shoes are consistently innovative, always coming out with new technologies for better performance and comfort,” Berwanger said.

“They also have a huge range of styles, so there’s something for everyone,” said Berwanger.

He said he has a specific pair that gets him lots of compliments due to their uniqueness which immediately catches your attention.

“I often get compliments on my Nike Air Maxes. People love the red and black colors together and how they go with almost any outfit,” Berwanger said.

Junior Kayleigh Sheleman, is more into New Balance instead of Hoka or Nike.

“They’re very comfortable and they come in a bunch of different styles,” Sheleman said.

Sheleman is not only an academic weapon, but an athletic one too, so she must have good, supportive shoes. Not only that, but they are stylish and trendy too, which leads her to get lots of compliments.

“I do get compliments when I wear them ‘cause I have a bunch of them and they’re different styles and they’re different colors,” she said.

Shoes are a very common thing that teens ask for every year at Christmas time. So it is no surprise that these students also wanted some new sneakers to kick off the next half of the school year.

“Yeah I need a new pair of Converse, some white Converse, mine are looking pretty rough,” said Waldman.

“Yes I have a new pair of New Balances on my Christmas list,” said Sheleman because she is going to be staying loyal to her favorite brand.

“Yes, I’m hoping for a pair of New Balance 550s,” said Berwanger when talking about his Christmas list this year. “I love their retro look and unique style.”
