Fall Students of the Month

Every month, the Montoursville and Warrensville Lions Clubs pick two seniors to recognize as students of the month. The Arrowhead is not responsible for choosing the students of the month.

– September –

Montoursville Borough Girl – Audrey Hess

Parents: Jason Hess and Ashley Glica

Q: What sports, clubs, and/or activities are you involved in?

A: “Varsity cheerleading, Key Club, student government, choir, ‘Ville Harmonic Ensemble, President of the Environmental Club, Science National Honor Society, Thespian Society, and the Theatre program.”

Q: What are your plans for after high school?

A: “To attend college to get my bachelor’s degree in early childhood education.”

Q: What is your favorite memory?

A: “Helping with Ag day.”

Q: What is your favorite quote?

A: “‘Never be so kind you forget to be clever, never be so clever you forget to be kind.’ -Taylor Swift”

Q: Is there a school tradition that is your favorite?

A: “The bonfire before the Battle of the Bridge game.”

Q: Do you have any advice for future seniors?

A: “Slow down, it goes quick, and be respectful of your peers, teachers, and yourself.”

Montoursville Borough Boy – Mason Morrow

Parents: Jennifer and Marshall Winters and Jed and Rita Morrow

Q: What sports, clubs, and/or activities are you involved in?

A: “FBLA, Environmental Club, tennis, and I’m a band manager.”

Q: What are your plans for after high school?

A: “Attend college for accounting.”

Q: What is your favorite memory?

A: “Hanging out with friends and having fun.”

Q: What is your favorite quote?

A: “If you don’t work neither will your dreams.”

Q: Is there a school tradition that is your favorite?

A: “The talent show on the last day of school before Christmas break.”

Q: Do you have any advice for future seniors?

A: “Study and prepare but also have fun and enjoy your free time.”

Warrensville Girl – Karleigh McKenna

Parent: Robin McKenna

Q: What sports, clubs, and/or activities are you involved in?

A: “Student council president, student government vice president, National Honor Society vice president, National Art Honor Society, Mock Trial team captain, Key Club, school Bible study leader, concert band, marching band, honors band, FBLA, Rho Kappa, HOBY leadership seminar 2023 and 2024, Youth Leadership Task Force Development, Flaming Foliage representative, Track and Field, cross country, employee at Hatchet House, babysitter, and a Young Ladies of Excellence nominee.”

Q: What are your plans for after high school?

A: “I plan to attend Penn State University in the honors program for business and psychology. Then I would like to attend law school to be a corporate attorney.”

Q: What is your favorite memory?

A: “My favorite high school memory is being a part of the Homecoming court as the Flaming Foliage representative and crowning the queen and princess.”

Q: What is your favorite quote?

A: “You can’t change the wind, but you can adjust your sails.”

Q: Is there a school tradition that is your favorite?

A: “My favorite school tradition is doing band pep rallies in the hallways before the big football games.”

Q: Do you have any advice for future seniors?

A: “My advice to future seniors is to find your purpose in all that you do. If you find a purpose for everything you are doing, it will become more meaningful and important to you. Then you can focus on the things where you have purpose instead of the things where you don’t.”

Warrensville Boy – Andrew Trueman

Parents: Mark and Betsy Trueman

Q: What sports, clubs, and/or activities are you involved in?

A: “Concert band, jazz band, choir, ‘Ville Harmonic, FBLA, National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Science National Honor Society, AP Physics Club, and Track and Field.”

Q: What are your plans for after high school?

A: “Attend a four year college to pursue a B.S. in Civil Engineering.”

Q: What is your favorite memory?

A: “Qualifying for Region Band.”

Q: What is your favorite quote?

A: “‘Everybody is a genius, but if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.’ -Albert Einstein”

Q: Is there a school tradition that is your favorite?

A: “Senior skip day.”

Q: Do you have any advice for future seniors?

A: “Prepare for the future but live in the moment.”

Montoursville Borough Girl – Lily Fortin

Parents: Michelle and David Fortin

Q: What sports, clubs, and/or activities are you involved in?

A: “The girl’s tennis team, Key Club, Mock Trial, National Honor Society, President of Spanish National Honor Society, Rho Kappa, Mu Alpha Theta, Yearbook staff, board member of Spanish Club, student government, and Medical Careers.”

Q: What are your plans for after high school?

A: “I plan to study nursing at a four year university.”

Q: What is your favorite memory?

A: “My favorite memory is being on Homecoming Court and doing all of the dress up days and parade.”

Q: What is your favorite quote?

A: “‘So if you don’t know, don’t give up, ’cause you never know what the new day might bring.’ -Lana Del Rey.”

Q: Is there a school tradition that is your favorite?

A: “My favorite school tradition is having the Gold Out and Pink Out football games and cheering in the student sections with my friends.”

Q: Do you have any advice for future seniors?

A: “My advice to future seniors is to keep working hard and enjoy every minute of it.”

Montoursville Borough Boy – Todd Crawford

Parents: Chris and Jennie Crawford

Q: What sports, clubs, and/or activities are you involved in?

A: “Football, basketball, track and field, Key Club, National Honor Society, and FBLA.”

Q: What are your plans for after high school?

A: “I plan to attend college for computer and mechanical engineering.”

Q: What is your favorite memory?

A: “Beating Mifflinburg in my last home game of my football career.”

Q: What is your favorite quote?

A: “‘Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.’ -Ferris Bueller”

Q: Is there a school tradition that is your favorite?

A: “Friday night lights, the band and the student section.”

Q: Do you have any advice for future seniors?

A: “Don’t fall behind in class, and stay motivated because classes get difficult.”

Warrensville Girl – Sidney Boyle

Parents: David and Kim Boyle

Q: What sports, clubs, and/or activities are you involved in?

A: “Captain of the Montoursville girl’s soccer team, track, secretary of Key Club, Vice President of the Class of 2025, secretary of Spanish National Honor Society, National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Rho Kappa, student government, Science National Honor Society, and FBLA.”

Q: What are your plans for after high school?

A: “Attend a college or university to obtain a biology degree or become a physician assistant.”

Q: What is your favorite memory?

A: “Beating Bloomsburg in soccer on my senior night. I scored the winning goal and was assisted by my sister.”

Q: What is your favorite quote?

A: “‘Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.’ -Dr. Seuss”

Q: Is there a school tradition that is your favorite?

A: “Homecoming festivities, like Homecoming Court, parade, and dance.”

Q: Do you have any advice for future seniors?

A: “Enjoy the last of high school with your friends and don’t stress too much about the future.”

Warrensville Boy – Shaw Simpson

Parents: Billy and Michelle Simpson

Q: What sports, clubs, and/or activities are you involved in?

A: “Soccer, basketball, track, FBLA, Key Club, and National Honor Society.”

Q: What are your plans for after high school?

A: “I plan to attend Misericordia University to pursue a career in physical therapy.”

Q: What is your favorite memory?

A: “My favorite memory is my junior year soccer season and having a fun time with the team.”

A: “Don’t waste the time you have and make the most of each moment.”

Montoursville Borough Boy: James Mussina 

Parents: Anne and Mark Mussina

Q: What sports, clubs, and/or activities are you involved in?

A: “Basketball captain, president of FBLA, Key Club Sergeant of Arms, and baseball.”

Q: What are your plans for after high school?

A: “Attend the University of Pittsburgh to study biology.”

Q: What is your favorite memory?

A: “Going to FBLA states with my friends.”

Q: What is your favorite quote?

A: “‘If you can’t take on a loan from a bank, you have to take on the bank alone’ -Dignan”

Q: Do you have a favorite school tradition? If so, what is it?

A: “The talent show and musical. Sports get a lot of attention, but it’s always amazing to see how many talented people are in our school.”

Q: If you could give any advice to future seniors what would it be?

A: “Stay locked in after you get into college.”

Montoursville Borough Girl: Ellie Maeulen

Parents: Meghan and Josh Maeulen

Q: What sports, clubs, and/or activities are you involved in?

A: “[I am] founder of Warrior Club, which promotes opportunities for MAHS’s students in the learning support classroom, Lieutenant Governor and State Board member of Key Club, NHS, NEHS president, SNHS president, Spanish Honor Society, Rho Kappa, Mu Alpha Theta, FBLA, Spanish Club, and [I am] 33rd in the nation for 2025 javelin in track and field.”

Q: What are your plans for after high school?

A: “Major in biology and pursue medical school to become a physician.”

Q: What is your favorite memory?

A: “Starting Warrior Club and getting to see the impact it has made.”

Q: What is your favorite quote?

A: “Be the change you wish to see in the world.”

Q: Do you have a favorite school tradition? If so, what is it?

A: “Class day”

Q: If you could give any advice to future seniors, what would it be?

A: “Take and make the most of every experience and opportunity you get! Do what makes you happy and don’t worry about what everyone else is doing.”

Warrensville Boy: Alex Emick

Parents: Jason and Donna Emick

Q: What sports, clubs, and/or activities are you involved in? 

A: “I am a volunteer at Plunketts Creek Fire Department and am part of Environmental Club.”

Q: What are your plans for after high school?

A: “I joined the Pennsylvania National Guard and will attend basic training and AIT next summer and plan to attend Penn College in the spring of 2026 and open my own business one day.”

Q: What is your favorite memory?

A: “My favorite is the hot dog eating contest in Ag last year.”

Q: What is your favorite quote?

A: “‘Unreasonable people change the world.’ -Ed Mylett”

Q; Do you have a favorite school tradition? If so, what is it?

A: “Friday night football, I enjoy being in the student section and cheering for my friends on the field.”

Q: If you could give any advice to future seniors, what would it be?

A: “Make a plan and set yourself up for the future, but have a positive attitude toward everything and live like you only have one chance.”

Warrensville Girl: Paige Boyle

Parents: David and Kim Boyle

Q: What sports, clubs, and/or activities are you involved in?

A: “I am captain of the girls’ soccer team, historian of the Class of 2025, treasurer of NHS, and a member of Key Club, SNHS, FBLA, Student Government, Rho Kappa, and Mu Alpha Theta. I work at Faddies Ice Cream and Pizza, and I also work at Geisinger as a co-op through the Med Careers program here at the high school.”

Q: What are your plans for after high school?

A: “I plan to attend a four year university to major in biochemistry with a pre-med track.”

Q: What is your favorite memory?

A: “My favorite memory from high school has been participating in the student section as an upperclassman.”

Q: What is your favorite quote?

A: “My favorite quote is, ‘For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord,’ Jeremiah 29:11.”

Q: Do you have a favorite school tradition? If so, what is it?

A: “My favorite tradition is Homecoming and all the different activities that the court gets to participate in.”

Q: If you could give any advice to future seniors what would it be?

A: “Enjoy everything you can because it goes by way too quick!”
