The golf team accomplishes many personal goals in its 2023 season

The golf team finished out their season in September without any major notable accomplishments as a team, however many individual goals were reached by its players.

Sophomore Carson Menne said he overcame the challenge of hitting his driver straight and he improved his putting skills.

When asked what life lessons he learned from this season, Menne said, “To take your time and be patient because you get better every day.”

Goals were shared and accomplished by multiple players, such as sophomores Brennen Imbro and Shea Ulmer, who both fixed their swings, with Ulmer even getting to start a match or two, meaning that he was playing varsity.

Imbro said the moment he got his first birdy, meaning he scored one stroke less than the stated par of a given hole, was his favorite memory and a big accomplishment for this year’s season.

Freshman Zachary Neill also succeeded in achieving his goal and said, “I wanted to shoot in the 40s and I did.”

Many players share a common excitement for the upcoming season and have said this past season was really short and they can not wait for the next one.

While the whole team did not reach any statistical achievements this past season, Neill said the team did form “a bond that won’t break.”
