Emick(’24) Receives Student of the Year

We are excited to announce that Katelin Emick(’24), a Level 3 student from Montoursville, was selected as Lyco CTC’s Student of the Year.   Katelin received this honor based upon her outstanding work ethic, attendance, behavior, and community service.

Katelin is a member of the National Science Honor Society, National English Honor Society, and the National Technical Honor Society.  She earned Nurse Assistant Certification, Direct Care Staff Certification, CPR/First Aid Certification, and OSHA 10 Certification.  She participated in a Cooperative Education Work Experience with UPMC as a Certified Nurse Assistant.  She participated in the SkillsUSA District Competition two years in a row, earning First Place as a member of the Health Knowledge Bowl Team and Second Place in Medical Terminology.  As a member of the Health Knowledge Bowl Team, she competed at the SkillsUSA State Competition in Hershey and earned Second Place in the state.  She has participated in community service activities with the Harvest of Hope and Dwell’s Orphanage.  In her free time, she enjoys kayaking and reading.

After high school graduation, Katelin will attend East Stroudsburg University to obtain a Master’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders.  Her career goal is to become a Speech Language Pathologist.
