Welcome to Summer School & Enrichment!
Summer School offers students the opportunity to receive additional instruction in a course that they were not able to pass during the regular school year. By passing the course(s), the students earn full credit.
Summer school 2016 will run June 10-July 22, 2016. (July 4th will be a day off)
Credit recovery courses will run for 3 weeks during two sessions. Course availability depends on the number of students who register. Courses offered for credit recovery include English 9, English 10, Civics & Government, American History, Algebra IA and Algebra IB. The 3-week session in which courses will be offered is TBD.
World History & CSS enrichment courses will run for the complete 6 weeks.
The classes are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. till noon. All classed are held at Montoursville Area High School. The cost is $100 per credit recovery course and $200 per enrichment course.
Check with Mrs. Mussina in the counseling office in mid-May for more information.
Summer School Attendance Policy
Because of the shortness of time and the quantity of work to be covered during summer school, attendance must be held as a top priority. Consequently, students taking the enrichment courses (6 weeks) are permitted to miss a maximum of 2 days (1 day is considered 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon). Except for extenuating circumstances, any absence beyond two day limit will require a doctor’s excuse or the student will be dropped from the program. Time off for vacation or summer camp is not considered an extenuating circumstance.
Because the course offering is determined by the number of students, there will not be any refunds regardless of whether the student quits or is dropped. Payment is due on the first day of classes with a check made payable to Montoursville Area High School.
