Requirements for Graduation
Students are required to earn a minimum of 26 credits, which must include the following courses for graduation:
4 Units of Credit in English
3 Units of Credit in Math (must pass Algebra I)
3 Units of Credit in Science (must pass Biology and Chemistry or S.T.E.M.)
4 Units of Credit in Social Studies
2.5 Units of Credit in Health and Physical Education (includes Driver’s Safety)
2 Units of Credit in Arts* or Humanities**
7.5 Additional Credits*** (electives as needed to meet the total number of credits required to graduate)
Proficiency on Keystone Exams
*Arts – Visual Arts, Music, Dance, Theater, Film Studies, Family & Consumer Science, Industrial Arts, Crafts, and Agriculture
**Humanities – Literature, Foreign Languages, History, Philosophy, or additional courses in English and Social Studies ***Additional credits could include courses in math and science if the 3 required units have already been fulfilled.
Starting with the Class of 2022, students who take and pass Algebra I and/or Spanish I in 8th grade will earn one high school credit per course.
