Lyter Elementary Bucket Filling Program

We are excited to be implementing a school wide positive behavior support plan based on the book, Have you Filled a Bucket Today, by Carol McCloud.  In this story, every person carries an invisible bucket above his/her head.  When we act kindly towards one another, we not only fill others’ buckets but we also fill our own.  However, when we act unkindly towards one another, we dip out of others’ buckets as well as our own.  A “bucket filler” is a student who has worked hard to fill others’ buckets and to not dip from any others’ buckets.  Lyter faculty and staff will recognize students who show random acts of kindness towards others by awarding Bucket Filling slips.  Every Friday, we will be recognizing one student per classroom who has gone out of his/her way to act as a Bucket Filler.  These students will earn a Bucket Filler certificate and get their picture taken.  The Weekly Bucket Filler picture is displayed in the Bucket Fillers Hall of Fame at Lyter (by the gym) and on the Lyter homepage.

Thank you for all of your support with this program!
